thanks so much for your advice.  You know, my son never worries about his academic but only reading his story books and spend time watching TV.

I totally agree with you.  I think the SPC really provides a good environment.  I observe that my son has already undergone changes, he participates a lot during the English lessons, he speaks in English even at home.  He concerns whether the choir has accepted him and reading notices by himself except that he still holds a very hea attitude on his academic.
FYI, one of my friends' boy is in the F.2 elite class of a top top Band 1 boys' school and they are doing the English A-level paper in their english lessons.  As a result, most of the students in this school go to at least 5 tutorials (2 for english, 2 for maths, 1 for chinese) a week, busy doing not the homework at school, but the homework of the tutorials.  Isn't that healthy ?
However, most of the parents in HK welcome and are proud of this kind of education system of this school.  Isn't it sad ?

I am sorry that I don't have any result for St. Paul.   Last time I asked howgarts to check to pm is about some other issues but not the HKCEE result.

I remember that your son joins the Scouts, did he go to Tai Tam today ? It seems the Scouts' activities do occupy every Sat weekends (according to the activity timetable).  Does yr son join the Choir as  well?  I don't know if my son can manage both as they require practice and strict participation.
Nearly a month passed, yet, our Chinese teacher hasn't finished even one chapter.  Did the syllabus last year cover very few chapters ?

thks so much for sharing.  My son, when he was back on that day, mentioned nothing except their group lost 4 nails.
BTW, why there was still no news about the different ECA information ? When will they start?  You know, our F.1 English lesson is divided into three groups and I found some group has tighter schedule while our son's group is very loose.  I am afraid he will be 退步 。:(

My son joins the Scout and he is informed that they need to take the entrance exam or will be rejected if failed.  Is the entrance exam difficult to pass  and what special things he needs to know ?
I would be grateful if your sons could give me some hints ?  Tks in advance.

My son is in 1B and he is in the Wolf group.  He received three piles of notes and a mock exam paper about the entrance exam.  Is it necessary to memorize all the scout promise all the history of the scouts ?   He will be going to the growth camp on the coming Tuesday - Thursday.  I worry that he doesn't have time to remember  all those notes.  He may be the first one failed in the exam.
Anyway, I must thank for your help as well as howgarts.  You two are so nice.

食住都OK, 但沖涼只有兩浴室有熱水，所以等了很久，要自己洗碗，有一晚camp, 天氣很涼，記住帶風褸。
BTW,我班明天中文quiz,你們測了未？
English lesson 好像沒有教過什麼，怎麼辦？可不可以分享？

我的囝囝和綱上homework list 都有提及。Camp 沒有什麼為特別，要洗碗和帶防蚊用品。(my son said there were some classmates broke the dishes during washing.)

I don't know.  I have the syllabus listing clearly on the paper. The heading said F.1 English Uniform Test Syllabus.  You can ask your son if he has got it or not.

How long does the English uniform test paper last on 02/11? 45 mins ? 1 hr ? Does anyone know ?

1.  Uptill today, my son's class still has not received the syllabus of the dictation yet.  
2.  Do you know the average of 1st uniform english test taken in November ?
3.  On 14/12, there will be a common assignment of IH which covers the exam syllabus but they allow open book.  
4.  Anyone knows when will the reading quioz take place ?  They mentioned early December but still no news.

外間人倒數2011的來臨，spc parents, like me 倒數exam的來臨，my son 則倒數考完exam的來臨，完全不知不努力讀書滿江紅的後果！
Still 4 more days to go.你有你急，他有他閒！冇計！

The school hours :8:15am-3:30pm
As for the 課外活動, that depends.  My son joins the Scouts, sometimes I paid HK$100 for each campings.
If you learn the musical instruments, that will be around HK$3000 for two school terms which is not expensive if compared to outside.
雜費- not much.  They are for copying, outings.  I remember I paid $200 for English, $100 for chinese at the beginning of the term.
Actually, there is no extra expenses apart from school fees except you join the musical classes.
Sometimes you will pay application fees for sitting outside examination which is reasonable.

其他學校我不知，但St.Paul's College 的補習風氣不高，有些家長覺得好像很hea, 但我覺得如果要拿好成績也不簡單。我的仔仔沒有補習，因為過往小學太多補習，所以想調節一下，但他的成績也ok, 進步不少，除非他覺得有困難，否則還是讓他先自己來。
學校校長曾在assembly提及因舊年開始自己揀學生，所以很多學生也有從新界來的，如青衣，不用擔心。(my son said this year's F.1 new students are from 54 primary schools)
accept 才花時間考慮，刻下還要作第三次呈分，加油！
