Any idea on the first day to school

Do you have any bks regarding first day of school that can recommend?

One of the book I read is"Settling Your Child in School: A parent's Guide" by Michelle Wallis.  I bought it from British Council.

• This book is excellent!

早上仔仔鑽上我的床, 問, "今天可否不上學?"
答, "哥哥姐姐大個都會上學, 你也大個仔, 所以也上學去!  現在是試班, 遲些換上新校服正式上學時, 爸媽會一齊支持你, 跟你拍照留念......."(越講越遠....)

今天回到學校, 整理好書包後道別, 他便坐下跟同學一起玩, 課室裏再沒一個同學哭了!!! 好神奇!

上星期老師講了一個熊貓的故事, 他牢牢記住了, 知道熊貓是吃樹葉的, 住在中國.  之後他還會問我每一種動物是吃什麼的呢!  上學真好!

小兒病了!
醫生說是哮喘初起, 還要在醫院"聞氣"呢!

身體健康比上課重要, 這道理大家都知, 但實行起來, 心裏還不免想, "今天好了點吧? 可以上學嗎?"  自我反省, 真覺得自己過份!

昨日在家跟他讀新書"Happy", 講解人的情緒, 他告訴我學校有一同學"feel sad and she cry", 我說, "那樣你可為她遞上紙巾抹眼淚, 就像媽媽平日跟你做的一樣, 我想她的心情一定會轉好!"

而他, 當然說自己沒有再在課室哭呢!

小兒情況穩定, 所以送他上學!

進課室前還哭不停, 最後要勞煩老師抱抱!

要狠下心, 還是我逼得他太緊???

想不到先前放了兩天病假真的令前功盡廢!

今早上學一小時後, 學校來電, 邀請我接他回家, 因他哭不停之餘也咳不停, 為免影響其他小朋友, 還是回家休息較好!

帶著他回家, 一路上心情平復了, 也沒有再咳(多神奇!)

跟小兒說下星期"無得返學!", 他又反問為何, 扭說要上學, 真沒有辦法! 希望八月真式開學時, 他可以再好好適應吧!  這個多星期要趕緊在家多玩課室遊戲, 讓他作好心理準備!

各位前輩,

怎辦呢?  自從3星期的暑期班完結後, 小兒就跟我說, "我不上學!" 跟他讀了Barney 的Go to School也作用不大, 下星期上學看來要打仗了!
應繼續跟他聊上學的事, 還是下星期才通知他呢?

我不是全職媽媽, 只是工作時間較有彈性, 未來日子也會先送小朋友上學, 然後才回公司, 當然好希望能抽多些時間陪他, 但世事無奈!

月底上k1, 你會陪上學嗎?  我請了兩星期每日上晝放假陪小朋友開學, 希望他可以快快樂樂!  你的小朋友有上pre-nursery嗎? 我發覺有上學問題的k1小朋友好少, 可能在兩歲時已經適應, 這令我更擔心小兒的進度!

其實我小朋友月尾係上n1(半日)，係學校比新生適應而設。他10月先夠2歲，所以11月先可以正適上學，而他又比較黏身，所以我都驚我會忍唔住吶咗出來

我一定會請假陪他，因為始終要咁細個去面對新環境，對身心一定有影響，所以我好想親自接送他，比多啲安全感他，最緊要他知道我唔係放低他唔理，同上學係一件開心事

我係另一個topic見到你分折幼稚園同點揀，覺得我有見地，請問你小朋友現在係讀邊間。我衣家都係揀屋企樓下間幼稚園(規模較小)，到K1時我會考慮幫唔幫他轉，因為我年尾第2個小b會出世，諗緊好唔好幫大仔轉全日，想揾間大少少o既學校，比多d活動空間佢
咁諗好嗎？

小兒將於何文田維記讀k1, 這校沒有室外的playground, 是最大的缺點, 我們唯有平日帶他到公園跑動.
校園當然是越大越好, 但不是唯一的選校條件, eg. 有些幼稚園很大, 但蚊患也相當, 加上課程較鬆散, 所以小心考慮.
但倘若年底小bb出世, 那你不宜報考太多學校, 以免增加壓力, 若心儀九龍塘區的, 要注意st. cat與kv的面試日期好接近, hkbuk就最好父母與小朋友三人一起面試, 啟思附幼較容易考入, 不過其小學學費好貴, 適合公務員!

我唔會考慮九龍塘，因為實在太遠，對小朋友來說太辛苦了

另外，我有些問題請敎
1.請問課程如何為之鬆散？
2.怎樣的程度先適合小朋友，點為之深/淺？
   我見我參觀之其一學校k3已有造句練習，咁係咪叫深？
   例如比「我會」，然後引領他寫下半句
3.一般課程會有什麼？

didn't have a chance to read all the posts above. but i think most parents in hkg are too worried about their kids develoment.  summer holidays are supposed to have fun. there is more to life than just spending your whole life in classroom, you know. just give the kids a break.

多謝你的提醒, 其實先前的暑期班是k1的一個預備, 小兒沒有讀兩歲的pre-nursery, 所以想借暑期班練習"separation", 因師生比例很理想, 約2:10, 但效果仍不太理想.  

今個星期四正式開學了, 相信他會大哭兩三天, 唯有希望他會遇上喜歡的老師!

The class is cancelled due to the typhoon!  Supposingly today is the first day of his K1 and we're ready for it--but now one more holiday.
When I talk about the school to my boy, he doesn't oppose it strongly.  Hope he will be ok tomorrow!!!

Today is the first day in K1, just one hour!

We put on the uniform at 9:45am and he was co-operative at that moment and we could also take some video and pictures by that time.

We left at 10:00am and we arrived at 10:20am.  My boy thought that he went to picnic with dad and mom!

Arriving school, he began to cry!!  There were 24 students in his class and just 2 kids were crying!  So embarassing!  Only 3 parents stayed in the classroom .   Maybe all the kids cried when they started their pre-nursery class but not in K1 anymore.

Next monday will be another day!  Hope he can get used to the school.
