Hi CD,

My girl is attending the summer program in SC as well. She was study in am class in Norford Rd but I choose the pm class for her because the program is in Essex Rd and it's too far away by walking fm KCR to there.  (I took her to school everyday when she' in K1.) She had to get up very early if she took the school bus.  I have a big big problem - She doesn't want to go to school everyday and even cry.  I asked her the reason.  She said "I don't like Essex Road because the campus is very dark and small.  She said all her classmates here are pm class in K1.   She wants to go back to Norford Road campus.  I told her that this program is just for fun and you will go back to Norford Rd in K2 in this Sept and Norford Rd is in renovation.  She told me (Miss Scott and Miss Lee-her K1 class teachers) are there.  Miss Scott told her the story.  我一直以為Miss Scott 係佢summer program class teacher.  I called her yesterday and wanted to find out the reason.  The teacher told me she's not the class teacher of my daughter in this program.  Her teacher is called Mr. Kan-a foreign man.  My girl wants Miss Scott to be her class teacher again so she's very unhappy and doesn't want to go to school and also the school has many shelter so it seems very dark compare with Norford Rd.  (The teacher told me this.  I have not been there.)  The teacher said she would go to see her everyday to comfort her.  Sometimes I asked her about the program she seems very happy.
I feel guilty to my daugther.  I asked her last night about Mr. Kan.  佢係咪好惡, 個女話唔係, 日日都問重有幾多日返完, 唉! Last night, 我放工問到訓教, She always repeat the same questions.  
My husband 話唔好再返, 如果個女唔開心, I don't want to give up.  我希望佢可以'色'應, Although it's only 1 week left,  因為k2都要返pm, Teachers亦唔一樣.
你認為我應唔應該比佢繼續返?

Hi all

Is there any parents of coming K2 kids?  I would like to know the syllabus of K1 class at St. Catherine.  Somebody said that the syllabus of my son's school is too easy.

My son is studying in Essex Road Campus p.m. class.
I don't think Essex Road Campus is very dark and small.  This campus is quite new, clean and tidy.
Maybe the surrounding area is quiet, your daughter cannot adapt it temporarily.

For this summer program, I also choose p.m.session for my son.  
I think my son and your daughter are in the same class.  He told me that his class teacher is Mr.Kan, he is a nice man.  My son likes him very much and eager to go this summer program, even signal No.8 held on last Friday.

Don't feel guilty to your daughter, I think your daughter is a shy girl.  She cannot adapt the new environment only.  In my opinion, you should let her to participate different kind of activities.  She must try to communicate with other people.  Half year ago, when I brought my son to participate any activities, he must cry and told me " I don't like the campus, I'm afraid of this campus and teacher, I don't want to participate this activities again."  Actaully, he was not really afraid, he didn't want to communicate with the strangers only.  As this reason, I enrolled him to have different kind of courses, aims to train up his independence and adaptation.  Now, he does not afraid the new environment and the teachers.

So, don't give up this summer program.
Let her to adapt different environment.  It is benefit for your daughter to have interview P1 next year.

Yes, St Catherine usually organises "English Adventure" for the students during the summer.  Classes are conducted in the morning or afternoon, just like school hour. But it is very expensive.  Um...not sure about my memony, the fee is $3500 or $3600 for only two weeks (14 July-30 July)   

I called them few days ago.They said the summer class only for the k2 student.

It's not correct.  The course is designed for levels from nursery to upper.  Definitely sure.

That's good.  My daughter will be in K2 too. My daughter is in Norford campus.  How about yours?  I don't have any info. for the coming yr., like school bus route, etc.  Do you?  I think the school will mail us later, right?
The teachers of my daughter's class told me that in K2, it will be much more harsh and tough for the student.

Not really, my son (K3 just graduated) is attending the English Adverture.  He joined this at both K1 and K3 (no summer course at K2 due to the extended school period after SARS)

I think, as the summer classes already commenced, they wouldn't admit new students and they will recruit students next year. For those who are K3 graduates (like my son), they won't be in St Catherine anymore next year.  So I think the message you got from them is for K2 (but next year).

I havn't rec'd any info yet.  I think they will send later.  My girl will take the private school bus.  The teacher said there are 4 kids (My girl K1 classmates) will be the same class with my girl in K2.  The teacher said they used computer to allocate the class for the students & will have more items to learn in K2.  The homework is twice a week. Not too much.  .

Yesterday when I went home, my daughter was very happy to tell me "Mama, I am now in Ms. Scott's class.  I have changed the name batch.  We made pizza today for our tea time.  I am very happy."

I have bought the school uniform.  In my opinion, the quality of Sai Kwong is better (not know that of Asiatic) though the price is a bit more expensive.
