I like "resonable homework and disciplne and most important is highly interative study atmosphere."
I think studying in SSCPS is very happy. Dream School!!!
My son is not good on PTH. Is it difficult to follow?

May be it is difficult to avoid similar names. There were like 4 Justins in my big girl's class last year.
Ella chooses this name out of a few selected ones probably because it is easier to pronounce and write

No problem, the teachers are professional and some are native speakers. Besides, some classmates are native too and create a good language environment.

I found that my big girl adapted to PTH and English speaking quickly in say 2-3 months. Now in G2 she can switch languages with different people quickly.

我揀聖記, Dream School ma!

(3) Excellent Environment, 上堂可以去沙灘, 唸起都開心

(7) 我唸佢唔會話唔想返學掛! 呢個都好梗要! 最好佢地話唔想放假.

係就係遠o的, 但如果佢鍾意返學, 我唸佢幾點起身都無問題. 其實係市區返學, 塞埋紅綠燈都應該差唔多.

係呀，吃飯的安排和飯堂的食物都唔錯，每枱都由高年級照顧低年級，菜單都幾豐富和多元化。

其實校巴都唔算太早，灣仔區係7:25am-4:15pm (跑馬地好似早D, around 7:00am), 同其他學校差晤多, OK la, 開學係要適應期既，尤其是G1上學期，家長都要適應la

不過，女孩子要擦防晒，尤其是夏天呀

我哋揀St Stephen's因為：

1. 同一宗教(基督教)
2. 學校環境(Excellent, 好大自然啊)
3. 想有一個良好學習語言的環境(兩文三語)
4. 想亞囡喜愛上學，每日開開心心咁返學同成長，起碼大過咗都記得細個返學都係開心愉快。(聽朋友講同見到D學生好似好開心咁)

不過，冬天學校果度應該好凍。唔知會唔會呢？

其實我有o的唔係好明, 48% band 1? 其餘52%去佐邊, 有無資料可睇到? Interview個日, 有兩個G6 student helpers, 一個就話會上聖記中學, 一個就話佢會去St Paul Co-edu, 我心裏有疑問, 點解佢咁肯定佢自己去到co-edu, 我問佢點解要走, 佢好無奈話係父母意思. 不過佢話佢好想繼續係聖記. Then they said together "I love St Stephen".
賣物會有咩睇架?

It is heard that many good students may have left the school for overseas' studies before HKCEE.

Also, the secondary shcool just turned to "direct subsidized" this year. It may have more quota for selection by the school direct, not by "lucky draw", which may in turn secure better results in the future.
Let's wait and see in the coming few years.

I registered in the first round,too. Hopefully will not be too late to join your group. I like this school very much. I like the environment, cirriculum and the language background. Unfortunately my child got accepted by another elite school, which my husband and most of my friends and relative defeat me on the fact that the HKCEE result of St. Stephen Stanley is only "above average". I really like this school, I think my child will have a memorable childhood here. Please help me, how can I fight for that.

48% 都几好啦，如果全港平均讲一间中学应收33%Band1，33%band2，33%band3，48%即是已经多过平均15%。

依家直资以后，更可以拣人来收。

好高興見到你們組成一圍檯,睇怕都要take me out of the list. 同老公傾過,根本無商量餘地,唔通一條龍名校真係咁重要? 仲要而家搵定補習學校, 話阿女跟人地補下就習慣. 我唔讚成補習,我相信是有好的教育方法,學生就會學到.阿女絕對適合活動教學形式,能啟發她很多思考,和她對話她可以聯想好多問號,傳統教育根本不鼓勵發問. 況且,係咪讀名校就對將來有保証? 我唔想家變,要無奈接受.亦"鄧"你地高興夫婦能有共同理念.

希望各位的子女讀得開心,更希望你們能為呢間學校努力不要讓他淪為"只顧成績,唔理學生識唔識"的學校

Cindy, sorry to hear that your husband does not want to choose St. Stephen's. 但我又有啲明白佢想法。我之前問大家what are you plans for your kids after P.6 is because in 2007 St Stephen's小六学生在中一派位只有48%是Band 1, 45%是Band 2, 7% Band 3. 做家長當然想小朋友開心，但開心完六年咁到升中又点呢？比咁多学費....environment 當然但我亦希望小朋友成績好，至少吾好Band 2。But 你 husband 又好似太worry wor. 你哋要找个balance. 希望你吾好mind，我自己也有同樣situation, but 未decide 倒。

Recently I read the headmistress report 2007 from St. Stephen, the following info may help you to solve your situation.

"Second, the persistent efforts of the College Council succeeded and the College was granted the permission to turn DSS by September 2008. It is a remarkable achievement and would prove to be a tremendous asset for our students and parents in future. It is due to this change, the College will be a part of the through-train programme and our
Preparatory School's parents will be spared the anxiety of finding a secondary school which shares the same vision, mission, value and a programme aligned with our curriculum for their children. This will ease their worries of providing the best education to their children and also would prove to be a huge platform for the emotional stability of adolescent children entering with their familiar peers in the challenging environment of the secondary school."

"This year, out of the 91 candidates who participated in the Secondary School Places
Allocation (SSPA) System, (48%) 44 were placed in Band 1, (45%) 41 in Band 2 and (7%) 6 are in Band 3. Graduates of 2007 will be the last batch of students to obtain placement in our college
through the SSPA system. Starting next year, students will not have to face the uncertainty about their placement in our College. All the graduates who could attain the required competency in core subjects at the Preparatory School would be granted priority to continue their education at our College. This will be beneficial for their academic life also."

我都好同意,佢地呢二年開始注重學業成績,程度亦深佐,中學轉了直資一條龍,吸引了比較資優的學生,以前因為遠,派位來的都以他做次選,而家來申請的都比較認同學校教育理念,而中學亦換了一個好用心的校長,我相信應該會有好大改善,至少我見佢地的學生好presentable(not only the ascort students on day of interview),英文同普通話都好talk得,你知啦,英文好,考好多科都有著數,我唔相信成績會差得去邊
我仍然好鐘意呢間學校,上佢地個website,睇下佢地的相,,你會發佢地好開心,到5-6年班都仲笑得好天真,再同其他學校比較下,你就知點揀,好可惜以上各點我老都唔buy.
可能自己是填鴨受害者,到大學先知乜野叫讀書,好唔想下一代再次suffer,國際學校中文又好唔掂,總之做家長,長憂99啦

阿囡讀靈糧堂，幾活潑，面試好簡單，6-8人一組聽故事，答幾條問題，再個別和老師傾幾句計，全程約30分鐘，睇佢好似幾輕鬆。

不過我地只報了兩間，冇咁忙囉!

好似亦有些同學來自Victoria, 希望幫倒你参巧啦。

我覺得小朋友面試表現較為緊要, 我覺得父母既誠意較為緊要.

我相信學校會較喜歡outgoing既小朋友, 主動及積極一點既小朋友. 至少面試時肯主動答問題, 同埋唔好只答Yes or No, elaborate多o的會好o的. 純萃個人議見.

The headmistress Ms Wai is wonderful, she presents excellent, just wonder if this orientation is place before the admission, the competition would be very very keen. I love this school very much. I've attended many primary orientations before, and this one is a very high standard presentation.

In brief, Ms Wai discuss the school vision & history, their lang environment (& explain why & their success), details on the music activities & other ECA, brief sharing by the PTA. The demo of the school orchestral band, so amazed the kids (incl. some P2 kids) can be so nicely & quietly seated for nearly 2 hours before their actual performance, that shows the good moral education of the school. And then a short tour to the school areas (incl. the canteen & dormitories). Unfortunately, I don't have time to stay with the teachers for further informal discussion. How about other parents' opinion?

yes, Mrs Wai is great

One thing I'm sure is that the school is really sucessful in creating language environments for PTH and English, not just because the teachers are really professional, but the classmates also help a bit, some of them are natives. My big girl is in Grade 2, she can switch languages anytime anywhere now, she enjoys using the languages as tools for communication, not just use in the exams (we mainly speak Cantonese at home), that's why I like this school very much

My daughter, Rachel, just got the successful call from the waiting list. Since we did not join the last 2 orientation before, any important tips to us that the parents got from the last orientation ? 請多多指教.

Since Rachel is an active girl so I and my husband decide to change to St Stephen from a traditional school even the school fee of St. Stephen is really expensive. Hope it is worthly for us to do this !
