Since kmingc has 25 points for La Salle (25 points is practically a sure win situation as I have never heard of anyone failing to win a place with 25 points in any school!), it makes sense for him to choose SC as he doesn't have to worry about primary 1 application.
But if you don't have a sure win place in a good primary school, it is worth thinking about MS ahead of SC as you can have a decent school in hand & can still try your luck applying to a top school like St Paul Co-ed or DGS.
SC may be able to prepare your kid a little bit better academically so that they may be able to do a little bit better at interviews when it comes to primary school application, but there really is no guarantee.
With >600 kids in SC's K3 classes each year, they can't possibly all get into top schools.
So it is up to you to play safe going to MS or take a gamble going to SC. |
