My son got an offer from Reading School for this year's Y9. He has currently accepted the offer from Royal Grammer School High Wymcom (RGS) We like RGS a lot especially the boarding house, people and its activities. However, Reading performs much better academically; It came top 4 for A Level results last year in the UK and according to the good school guide 17% got offered by Oxford/Cambridge in 2014. Whereas RGS in term of ALevel result is around top 50 amongest state school; still very good!
My concern is would Reading offer a happy school life which I am confident that RGS will offer.
Reading is only weekly boarding so he will go to my family every weekend vs RGS is full boarding.
Greatful anyone know boarding life of Reading can share.
