When we travelled to other places - Asia, Europe, America, Canada, Mexico etc., we can always see people enjoying family lives much more than HK people, and there are many more leisure and cultural activities for kids.  Don't really understand why HK people have to "live" so fast - finish meal in 15 mins, hurry to work, kids attend many tutor classes, activities, busy, busy, busy....

我好贊成文中所講"二年級讀四年級的課程是沒意義的", 好多家長都好喜歡學校課程愈深愈好, 其實只有難為了小朋友.

有時我都覺得香港的教學制度很悲哀﹐真不明白為何讀得好的和讀得不好的都是要花一天八九成的時間在學習。。。

今個星期﹐我教了一個孩子什麼叫PRESENT TENSE﹐ 什麼叫HABITS﹐ 問她﹕

"Is reading books your habit?"---YES
"Is brushing your teeth a habit?"---YES
"Is going to the park a habit?"-----NO....

    
我的原意﹐是想給孩子多幾個例子﹐真的想不到她在第三題會答NO。。。。孩子才一年班﹐怎會不喜歡跑跑跳跳﹖

ANYWAY﹐既然她答了NO﹐ 我想她SOMEHOW已經明白HABIT 的意義﹐然後我﹐這個奉命來教孩子的﹐也只好繼續。。。。

Hongkees just like this.......So we always have to remind ourselves don't follow the trend though there is really a high pressure and keen competition in the kids' school life. It is very hard to maek the decision. I struggled at the begining do I need to send my girl to those tutions after school. I even ask her teacher's opinion. Her teacher said "no need". I sign a relief and beleive what I have been done to her is CORRECT. Now she has almost an hour to play with her neighbours after school everyday. And I can take an hour break to do my favour readings.  
Relax. Realx. Let's enjoy our life.

一般小朋友，上完課，再完成功課，每星期參加一两樣課外活動，現在之功課比前少了，照理應比我以前那代人開心快樂才對。

我發現，除了課外活動外，两代學生最大之分別是補習。現在的父母，動不動就請人補習，補習越开越多，廣告也越来越吸引，變相又鼓吹了補習之風氣。

為了孩子，不要動不動就去補習，咁孩子自然有時間玩。

Once our NET told me, kids in Hong Kong cannot tell what is 'Holiday'.  She asks children to share with her what they will do or have done during the holidays.  Most answers are weekly scheduled drawing, languages, chess, swimming, and musical instrument lessons, etc.

According to many parents, their kids are very happy and eager in attending all these classes.  However, what is Holiday meaning to them during their childhood?  Think about that!
Loving, Caring & Sharing “教養孩童，使他走當行的道，就是到老，他也不偏離。” (箴言23:6)
