St. Stephen is very famous. It is an old school kind of private school back in the old days. Usually, the kids of rich and famous went into St. Steven, and they still do. International schools were not that popular at that time. St. Stephen produces many sucessful students.

VSA收費國際(學校)化, 讀的卻係本地人, 英文成績好的同差的相距好遠, 今年無拉拉大幅提高加深中英數難度同功課量, 好多係出便都要補中英數, 連講開流利英文的都要補英文, 因會冇英文環境講得差左, (係學校淨係同西人班主任講英文, 同學之間全廣東話). 普通話就更加要補啦, 唔係點應付學校用普通話上堂呀.

我會撿英基, 學費差唔多, 英文聽講寫都好. 放學精補中文算了. 不過好難入, 我自己英文唔好唔知日後點同老師溝通, "我會撿" 因為呢個係我夢想.

赤柱個間類似vsa, 學費差唔多, 不過唔係IB, 但體育同音樂強, 係學校的傳統文化, 學生發揮的空間大好多, 唔會死谷學業, 成績唔好係體藝方面都會有成功感.

三間都要俾學費, 所以我無撿.

It is heard that the % of band one of VSA and SSC are so low, just around 20%.

I would choose ESF.

我覺得三間係完全唔同性質既學校, ESF係國際, SSC係傳統, VSA唔算國際又唔係傳統, 好難比較.
我仔讀維多利亞幼稚園, 所以我偏向喜歡VSA!!
我鄰居小朋友讀ESF, 英文好就肯定, 佢全家都用廣東話溝通, 但個小朋友只會用英文回答, 口音好純正, 反而廣東話口音怪怪地

, 學業成績如何就唔知, 見佢都有搵私人國語老師補中文/國語. 我上司個女讀SSC, 佢都係讀維多利亞幼稚園, 聽佢講個女P1時喊晒口唔要返學, 話老師好惡, 成日鬧佢, 好多功課, 好唔開心, 可能因為維多利亞係活動教學, 個女一時間難適應, 見我上司上年都好辛苦, 聽佢講有諗過轉校, 今年P2開學時問返佢, 佢話個女OK啦, 都鍾意返學, 小朋友適應力好強, 但課餘都要開補習. VSA暫時無識人讀, 但係BK問過家長意見, 除學費貴, 其餘我自己覺得OK, VSA英文唔夠ESF好就肯定, 始終VSA學生都係本地人, 母語都係廣東話, ESF大部份係外籍人, 同輩間溝通都係英語, 1日6小時, 上堂落堂都係英語, 當然差好遠. VSA學業成績唔夠SSC好, 我又覺得理所當然, VSA無考試/測驗, 學生自然少拚摶, 但都唔代表學唔到野, 我唔係覺得測驗考試唔好, 都係學習/吸收智識一種方法, 只係我較喜歡輕鬆學習

I would choose ESF/ SSc/ VSA
SSC's basically just another local school.

就算想讀本地名校都梗係想讀間最勁架喇 (e.g.女拔/德望etc).....正如你現在幫子女選擇國際學校一樣

VSA感覺上商業性質重，而且大本營係上海度......覺得香港o個個...佢地可能唔係咁看重

I am considering RC / VSA / SSC for my son. RC seems to be similar to VSA, both are IB and emphaize Mandarin. Tuition cost is around the same. My son is not English native speaker. Don't thnk he can get into ESF. RC / VSA will be better option.

Why do you think VSA is commerical? Always hear about the term "commerical" but not sure what exactly they refer to.

VSA is getting more like traditional local schools now as told by BK parents, i.e. lots of homework etc. to boost up the results.

RC is more like ESF in terms of teaching approach, so more interactive and international. So RC and VSA are different.

好簡單, vsa係辦學, rc 或好多is係搞教育.

"辦學者"以家長意願為依歸, 家長一投訴話 '唔夠深, 太鬆啦....' 辦學者就大刀闊斧: 改!    小二中文:今年一星期教一課, 開學到依家已經教佐八課有多, 同本地學校無異,默書默全課......兩週一小測(如無記錯), 仲記分添.  總之就級級程度全面提高(小一例外).

原因:  競爭大佐, 例如: 舊vsa 主任去佐搞漢華小學, 外籍班主任普通話中文等都好類似, 除了唔係ib, 仲要學費平, 小小班 (十五人左右). 港大同學會越黎越上位.  浸大附屬ib中小學等等.  但係vsa最睇係rc (咁講有d誇張, 但係唔知點表達,sorry) .  校長早排去過rc參觀or取經(whatever).  vsa新校服都係is feel. 校長每週亦有網上newsletter啦....之類.

rc 以'教育'為本, 校長話:homelearning 唔係homework, 即使家長話功課少, 學校係咁就係咁,成日係學校放學應該自學同玩, 咁樣先至係對學生最好的......我唸其他is都好有自己好firm的教學理念, 形成自身文化, 慢慢演變成傳統.  rc 的體育音樂等活動都好俾心機同落本, 學生可以係學術以外搵到發揮空間, 帶動學習興趣, 唔係個個都中英數得概嗎!

願意搞'全人發展'的學校最合我意...所謂"無咁商業化"

我多方參考研究,正考慮明年試報rc...唉! 為人父母....難難難

Mr Kenny (the principal) said that RC is not (and will not be) a bilingual school. It will still be sticking to the ESF tradition --- using mainly English.

I am considering RC / VSA / SSC for my son. RC seems to be similar to VSA, both are IB and emphaize Mandarin.
