我在家也不是說英語的，但可看懂英語卡通如Disney channel. 小一教的英文文法上不算難，教法有點似國際學校吧，教拼音、blending, sight words, 以sight words 作句，reading records 4books every week, spelling 8 sight words per week, diary biweekly, spelling phoneme related words, introduction of past tense, singular and plural, basic punctuation, this/that, these/those, 4w and 1h question words, etc. The test will ask them to write short sentences while spelling of words are not the major focus for test. It is not very difficult and test only what teacher taught in the lesson.
但是，個人覺得詞彙及聽力理解要求較高, 因全英語，老師是不會在堂上或小孩面前說廣東話的。 就算小孩聽不懂，老師只會用身體語言，圖片，簡單英文字句再去解釋。或有時會叫旁邊聽得懂的小孩用廣東話講解給聽不懂的孩子聽。但這不是經常做法。The teaching will cover three modules of learning in g1 which is animal, space, living things. It will teach knowledge a little bit like science class like animal classification, the planet in our universe, name of parts of plant etc. It require a large volume of vocabulary for student to learn, understand the modules teach during the lesson. They are required to do and present a project of the related topic at the end of each module. It will train up their presentation and organization skills. For example, they learned the animal classification and special features of different animal classes. Birds have wings and feathers and are warm blooded, fish have fins, scales and gills and are cold blooded etc. The student needs to pick a animal they like and present the characteristics of the animal, special features of the animal class and tell more about its habitat like what they eat, where they live, etc.
如果小孩能聽得懂老師說什麼就應該沒大問題。你覺得深嗎？ 我認為教授內容是深的，但英文文法上的東西很簡易。
