Oh thanks a lot for the sharing. May try playgroup first. what you mean by strict teaching method? i ...
Examples of an organized class (disclaimer: I liked it; but other parents may have different view):
1. When the teacher opens a box of toys, the kids are expected to come to the teacher one by one to get his or her toy, as opposed to running to the front altogether to "fight" for the toys
2. When a kid runs away during circle time, the teacher would stop teaching and remind that kid to come back to the circle, as opposed to simply ignoring that kid
3. When it is time for "tidy up", some kids prefer to throw toys into the box or on the floor, making a big noise. A "strict" teacher would ask such kid to pick up his toy and re-do the "put it back" action again and again, until he puts the toys back gently.
4. Snack time -- kids are required to line up first, wash hands, choose their plates and cups and sit down properly to eat. When finished, the kids are reminded to put their plates and cups back, return their mat and push back the chairs to under the table.
Ms Jaya is really good at all the above - She is also very patient and knows how to attract kids' attention. I would say she is "organized" more than "strict". My boy becomes more decinplied (but remains active and curious) and independent under her guidance.
