I totally agree 唔補習 is the correct way to educate a child. Of course in some special situations, like the child is born weak in some specific areas, I believe that extra learning time may be needed, and the parents may consider a tutor if they have no ability to help the child by themselves.
However, under normal situation for average children, tutorials cannot help them but actually defer children's development. Unforturnately, many parents do not understand.
To achieve good result in academic, besides motivation, the most important elements are time management, revision methods, concentration and understanding.
Tutorials cannot help children to improve any of the above. Instead, it uses up unnecessary time which leave children no time for other learnings and development, it feeds so to avoid them to find their own effecient ways and methods in study. And after long hours of school and tutorials, you won't expect the children to concentrate in revision, right? The worse part of tutorial is it makes children "think" they've already understood and they've already revised which will undoubtly hold them back for indepth understanding and critical thinking.
If the parents are willing to think a farther and further future for their children, they should not put them in tutorials. Motivate them, guide them to use time wisely, help them find their own ways of studying, encouarge them to solve problems and find answers, and let them rest so that they have clear mind to concentrate.
