SMC - 收到call 2nd IN 未呀？

congrats to those who got offer from SMC.  The sharing here reminds me how panic i was last year and finally got accept from SMC.  SMC is not my dream school at first, but for my husband it was.  These two months, we see changes on my girl and she is so happy in this school everyday.   And we are satisfied with the school curriculum, teachers are nice and we can communicate through emails/calls anytime. We are happy so far.  God have chosen a right school for my girl.

similar to Kschow, I called the school last week for the second interview result, and they told me to wait... so maybe that's why the school called us both today before they send out the mail (knowing we are expecting for it ).   We didn't meet with the Vice principal, but we met  with the head teacher (主任) for our second interview talk, she interviewed with my son for a like 25-30 mins, then i was called in for the chat as well , which also lasted for about 25 to 30mins. We(husband me and our son) also like the school a lot, and we will also register and accept the offer !!
KSchow, look forward to be classmate with your kid.

我們不會去高主教2nd int, 就算陳守仁,九龍塘有2nd int我哋都唔考慮

因為我們的target係一條龍直資英文小學

此校我們最喜愛的是語文環境, 因部份是收外籍學生, 我相信應用英語的機會比一般英文小學多, 而且小班教學, 全級80人, 主科會分3 groups, 高,中,低程度教學, 我們認為是因材施教

另外, smc注重閱讀, 我們亦認為閱讀比日復日的抄寫功課,默書更重要, 所以smc是我們心目中想要的, 我相信亦是適合我囝囝的

至於真實情況, 真係要問下現任家長, 不知道我所講的有否出入或補充? 如有, 請告知!

exactly right......and it is what we are looking for.  As it is a small class, teacher can pay more attention on those who needs help too

此校是不是較重體藝? 因見他擺出來的獎牌/盃, 多是dancing, swiming, table tennis, 不多/不覺見普通話, 辨論or數學的獎?

kschow & suewong: I liked and agreed with very much everything that u mentioned !!! and mine is a son who loves & enjoy reading so much  (even when i tell him not to), when i told him that his homework would mostly be reading and writing essay & doing reading diary in smc...he went "Yeah!!!"  Kids will do best at what they enjoy. I am so glad, being accepted has been a dream come true.

我覺得，有2nd in 的而又有見家長果批小朋友機會比較大，因學校想加深了解小朋友；而2nd in 後兩星期都未有信果批成數就更大，因學校需時做文件比小朋友辦理入學

Hi Kschow,

There are only 68 students at P.1 this year, divided into 3 groups. As far as I know, both english and chinese subjects are all taught by native speaker. All subject are taught in english except Chi and Life education.

The school encourage reading very much, there are 2 reading time every day in CT period, 20 mins each.Each week there is 1 lesson to spend freely in library. Encourage free writing instead of doing grammer exercise.

FREE talent class such as fencing, table tennis, chinese opera, ....and other ECA such as Browine, music instrument are all done in normal school time, no need to give up the school bus.
There is one lesson called " I.A." in which kids can play freely in the playground. Seldom found in other school.
Reasonable homework and dictation and quiz up to now.  A little demanding task is on reading report, average of 2 chi and 1 eng reading report a week.
