報考飛機師 宜先提升英語能力[p=23, null, left]【本報訊】夢想飛翔，當飛機師是很多人的夢想。國泰航空昨在教育及職業博覽舉行飛行學員計劃講座，吸引逾百名青年參與；有份發言的高級培訓機長劉伯智認為，本港年輕人一般IQ高，很有潛質成為機師，但部分人英語會話能力弱，建議欲參加計劃的年輕人在吸收航空知識的同時，不要忽略提升英語能力。

要與不同國籍人士溝通
[p=23, null, left]劉透露，他也是飛行學員計劃出身的機師，完成課程後成為二副機長，花了大概十一年時間晉升至機長。他從事航空業近十八年，參與學員招聘及機師培訓工作逾十年，他指經驗上，本港的八十、九十後青年並不如坊間所指般做事欠毅力，反而覺得港青一般智力高，惟英語會話弱。他說：「絕少見香港的學員因數學或物理唔掂而肥佬，寫英文同睇都可以，反而講就唔得。」他指，飛機師的工作需與不同國籍的人溝通，流利英語非常重要。

[p=23, null, left]入學後發現課程亦不容易，有現職機師指課程猶如於一年內完成兩個學位課程，民航處的考核更是兩日考超過十三科，成為二副機長後亦需至少每半年考試一次，確保熟習航空及安全知識。

The most important for a pilot is spoken English.  He needs to communicate with different persons with different accents, picking up instructions and information very quickly.  This is the weak point of most HK students.

I do not know the answer, but failure to pick up instruction/ information will definitely lead to disaster.  Verbal communication is extremely important for a pilot.  I have read some reports about the fatal accident happened in Korean Airline.  One of the major problems was internal communication.  It is not directly related to English proficiency but it shows the importance of communication.

投考時不會指明不准帶眼鏡啦(講明唔知會唔會被投訴殘疾歧視?),但取錄情況如何? 最近CX的情況我就不很update,不知他們有没有取錄有近視的cadet?如果有,那認真是近視人的喜訊.  在外國,近視人也會被取錄為民航機師,只要能correctable 可令視力變回20/20即可(即戴眼鏡) , 但友人告知,香港因為機師cadet投考競爭大, CX/KA 通常只收錄没有近視的cadet ,因為風險較細, 即使雙眼做過lasik都唔得.

CX and Dragon 依然recruit 不少HK born Westerners.  千挑万選世界精英的中英美法苏孩子后, 港孩已是上上品, 还需担心吗?

如果还是担心, 可考虑坐台湾航空, 苏联航空等.......

我有聽過那段對話.當中主角應該是內地機師.而那應該是2008年前的事,到了2008年中國民航總局才下令所有民航機師都要加強英文訓練(為配合國際民航組織ICAO的要求).雖然聽落都真的很令人擔心.

其實機師與控制塔人員的對答,全部要跟劃一的英語標準用詞.這是為了處理不同地方的語言習慣或會引致溝通誤會而影響飛行安全的潛在危機,例如要表達"no"是要說"negative",不說"no",因為有些國家的"no"的發音是"nej",音近似"nine",或會令接收者誤會.香港機師訓練全部跟足這套標準用語,所以大概不必擔心香港本地機師的英文水平會危害飛行安全.友人是土生土長香港人,早期考了cadet現在亦做了captain,他說入職之後航空公司不時會安排英文班讓他們再操英文.當然,考cadet時英文會話能力強,自有優勢.

就係做 LASIK 先唔得，反而有冇近視唔係問題。
當然，如果過千度就唔知，但普通三幾百度，我都識有後生仔做緊。

得，英文講和聽都要好。
識有是國際學校 (ESF 唔少)，亦有係本地學校。
